BCCI to announce squad for the Australian tour soon: Reports
19 Oct, 2020 By Editor

With the first half of Dream11 Indian Premier League 2020 coming to an end, the Board of Control for Cricket in India seems to be making their arrangements for the Australian tour soon. According to a report in Times of India, the BCCI selectors led by former India and RCB spinner, Sunil Joshi will be meeting in a “week's time ” to talk about the squad for forthcoming series.

The report also states that Cricket Australia is delaying the official announcement, as the state of Queensland has not yet given its permission for the series, and the Board also wants the Indian contingent to comply with the mandatory 14-day quarantine upon arrival as directed by the Australian government.

"When does Cricket Australia expect the BCCI to announce the squads for the tour? It's already October 18 today and barely 23 days are left for the IPL to get over. If the team must fly immediately after the IPL, when will the teams be selected?" those tracking developments were quoted by TOI.

Limited overs series between Australia and India is likely to begin post-IPL 2020 season. The limited-overs series will be followed by the prestigious Border-Gavaskar Test series.

"The IPL still has three weeks left and it's going to be the business end of the tournament. Player workloads must be managed because the tour of Australia is going to be lengthy. Already there are a couple of injuries," the report said further.

If everything goes well, the BCCI will be announcing the squad in following weeks for the long Australian summer.
