The IPL governing council, headed by Brijesh Patel, will meet via teleconference on Sunday to convey an extensive briefing on the arrangements with all principal stakeholders, including franchise owners, broadcasters and sponsors.

Speaking to the Times of India, the Board of Control for Cricket in India [BCCI] outlined the key points that will be addressed at the meeting. The BCCI with the help of the IPL governing council is diligently working to develop the policies. The report would then be issued to all relevant stakeholders.

"Once we share what we do with the franchises, we know there will be questions. We need to be thoroughly prepared," said Brijesh Patel.

Key points to be discussed

  • Bio-secure bubble - All eight franchises are tasked with building their own bubble. The team can only communicate with the specified individuals, and the sources located outside the bubble would be strictly forbidden from entering the premises.
  • Player replacement policy - The Board has made it clear that the player replacement rule will stay unchanged, where teams are allowed to fly with a few additional players in a bid to evade the last-minute injury concerns.
  • Travel and accommodation -The franchises need to facilitate their own travel and accommodation arrangements. The Board can only help to provide the teams and their representatives with discount hotel prices.
  • Medical facilities - The board will be travelling with a central medical staff, while franchises will need to set up a specific medical team. Upon reaching the UAE, the teams will be tasked with monitoring the COVID-19 tests individually.
  • Gate money - Considering the current circumstances, it will be a daunting task for the Emirates Cricket Board to facilitate spectators in the stadium. The BCCI is not inclined towards the 'gate money' issue, as the tournament is likely to take place behind closed doors.
