Can't speak highly enough of Zamps' help: Mitchell Swepson

Australian leg-spinner Mitchell Swepson has credited his teammate and RCB leg-spinner Adam Zampa for his success in the T20 international series against India. Swepson was Australia’s most successful bowler in the T20I series with 5 wickets at an incredible economy rate of 6.90 across the 3 matches.

Having gone in with two leg-spinners in their lineup, Australia reaped the benefit of having a cool head and an arm around Swepson’s shoulders in Adam Zampa. “Zamps has been excellent since I've come into the T20 squad. Being able to draw from a guy that's been out there and done it - particularly over the last couple of years, he's done so well,” said Swepson.

“It was great to have him here as a bit of a mentor. Having a guy like him out on the field helping setting fields and things like that was pretty handy for me. He was really quick to offer up his advice when I flew into this squad. So can't speak highly enough of Zamps' help that he gave me throughout the past three games,” Swepson added.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli too was also full of praise for Swepson, who got him out in the first T20I, and proved difficult for Captain Kohli to get away. “Look he's a really good bowler. He's come in and shown courage bowling from the pavilion end towards the shorter boundary on the leg side. Credit to the way he's bowled in the first T20I and this one as well. Look you can see the guy who wants the opportunity to step up for the team. It was evident in his body language that he was only thinking of executing his plans for the team so well done to him on that,” said Virat Kohli.
