Even Virat Kohli said a few days ago that if one needs to grow in cricket, playing Test cricket is the ultimate way. His RCB teammate Bhuvneshwar Kumar belongs to the same school of thought. Talking on Big Basket presents RCB Podcast, Bhuvneshwar Kumar opened up on how the longest format of the game changes cricketers.

Bhuvi highlighted that the length of the contest forces cricketers to do something consistently over a span of four or five days. He made it clear that being consistent over such a span gradually drills a system into an individual, which in turn brings out the best in them.

Bhuvi said, “If you take a look at all the players who have played Tests or red-ball cricket, I think they have evolved quicker compared to other guys because Test match or red ball demands that you do things consistently for four or five days. I think that helps a lot. I always say that the credit goes to red ball. The line and length that we generally talk about, bowling on it the whole time, I think it’s because of the red ball.”
