The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League will be held in the UAE from 19th September to 10th November. On Sunday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced that the Indian government had given the green signal to conduct the tournament in the UAE.

The confirmation comes after days of speculation regarding the dates of the tournament. Earlier, the IPL Governing Council Chairman Brijesh Patel had confirmed that the board had sought the Indian Government’s permission to conduct the tournament in the UAE.

In a meeting held on Sunday, the governing council also approved COVID-19 replacements for the tournament which is for the third time in its history moving out of the country. The squad limit per team for this edition will be 24-players.

The tournament will be played across three venues – Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah - in the UAE and will see 8 IPL teams grapple for 53 days for the coveted title. The matches will start half an hour earlier, with the 10 afternoon matches beginning at 3:30 PM and the evening fixtures at 7:30 PM IST.
