Happy birthday Josh Hazlewood – RCB’s HazleGod of dreams

08 Jan, 2026 By Editor

It’s the 8th of January, a pretty special day indeed. There are reasons for an RCB fan to be excited for the future while on the same day celebrate the present, alongside a historic moment from the past. With all of that being said, for now we will focus on the present which brings us to the celebratory moment of the day and that is the birthday of our very own, the Bendemeer Bullet, Josh Hazlewood.

The Aussie pace express became a part of the RCB history as he rammed through the defences of countless batters in IPL 2025, propelling the franchise to the hallowed IPL throne.

Hazlewood joined RCB for the first time in 2022. With 20 wickets from just 12 games at an economy rate of 8.11, Hazlewood already turned into the heartthrob of Bengaluru.

However, he couldn’t play in 2023 for long as only three matches came his way. The following year, Hazlewood sat out, before returning to RCB in 2025. But when he did come back, what followed with him was an avalanche. An avalanche of destruction. With 22 wickets from 12 games at an economy rate of 8.77, Hazlewood simply kept on dismantling batting line-ups.

From winning thrillers to setting up the tone, HazleGod descended upon the yards in his most ruthless avatar. It started all in the season opener itself when he presented RCB with the prized scalp of Quinton de Kock in the very first over of the tournament. However, he was a lot more menacing against his former side, CSK, claiming three wickets to secure a commanding win on the latter’s turf.

In RCB’s rain-curtailed fixture against Punjab, where the odds were stacked terribly low, Hazlewood offered promise with impressive figures of 3/14. Following their defeat against Punjab, RCB fought back strongly against Rajasthan Royals. In what was a thriller of the highest proportions, a magical performance from Hazlewood under the pump changed the entire equation of the game.

In the first Qualifier of the tournament, Hazlewood laid the brickwork, standing on which Suyash Sharma delivered the killing blow, Undoubtedly, the Australian pacer played a massive role and stepped up as RCB entered into the Promised Land for the first time.

RCB wishes you a very happy birthday, Josh Hazlewood. Enjoy your day to the fullest.
