Harshit Rana added to Indian squad for third ODI against Afghanistan

Fast-bowler Harshit Rana is all set to return to international action, having been added to the Indian squad for their third ODI against Afghanistan, which takes place in Chennai in less than 24 hours.

Harshit injured his knee during India’s warm-up match against South Africa in the lead-up to the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup. He missed the World Cup and was subsequently ruled out of the IPL following his surgery.

BCCI’s official statement said, “Mr Rana, who has completed his rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (COE), has linked up with the ODI squad in Chennai.”

India has already pocketed the series with a game to spare after a couple of dominant performances saw them rout Afghanistan emphatically. They will be playing the last encounter of the series on Saturday which is to be played in Chepauk.
