He is the ace of spades - Harbhajan Singh on Suryakumar Yadav
The second ODI between India and Australia witnessed Suryakumar Yadav extending his dream run in ODIs to another glistening chapter as he stayed unbeaten for an incredible 72 from just 37 balls, propelling the Men in Blue to a staggering 399 on the board. This was his second consecutive half-century in ODIs and he absolutely rocked the Aussie bowling unit with an incredible display of power-hitting laced with some immaculate technique.
Watching him come alive just ahead of the quadrennial extravaganza, former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh believes that Suryakumar should be a part of the playing XI. Analyzing what the hard-hitting middle-order batter brings to the table, the Turbanator said that his inclusion will change the game completely for the Men in Blue and the Indian think-tank should try and make good use of the explosive right-hander’s talent.
Talking on his Youtube channel, Harbhajan said, “Surykaumar Yadav has to play all the matches. I don't care whom he replaces, but his name should be taken first and then the rest. You have a player who is a pure match winner and can single-handedly make the game one-sided. He is the ace of spades. We have been talking about a finisher...he is the one. He has to play at No. 5 for India.”
It is going to be interesting to see whether Suryakumar Yadav makes the cut for the Indian team in the third ODI against Australia as two of India’s star batters return to the fold, in the form of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
