He just knows how to do it - Dale Steyn impressed KL Rahul's batting form
KL Rahul has looked really solid in the ongoing ODI series so far as India and South Africa are level 1-1 with a game to go. Rahul knitted together a crucial knock of 56 from just 60 balls in the first match, while hammering a breezy 66 off 43 in the second game. With a tally of 126 runs from two matches, Rahul has been in great touch as India hope to spear their way past the Proteas.
Former South African fast-bowler, Dale Steyn, opened up on how good has KL Rahul been. Talking to Star Sports, he highlighted how Rahul can be a great option up front as well but given the power-packed batting order, he is making the most of the position which he is batting at.
Steyn said, “He just knows how to do it. Again, if he batted 3 or if he opened the batting, I am pretty certain he would also go on to get the hundreds because of the lack of deliveries faced. But those positions are for other players, and he knows what his role is within this team. And in both games so far, he has played fantastic innings.”
He further added, “A good, handy knock set by the skipper, KL, and he led his team well in the first one, managed to up the ante when he needed to. And again today, there was a period where he went semi-slow with Jadeja. South Africa bowled well in that little transitional period there, and the last over picked up the most expensive over of the innings.”
