He’s not one to sit back – Josh Hazlewood on Virat Kohli’s availability for the DC game
Virat Kohli has been in terrific touch in IPL 2026. He started exactly where he left off, currently sitting in second place on the leading run-scorers’ list. With 228 runs from just five innings at an average of 57, Kohli’s stability in the RCB batting order has been exemplary.
His score of 49 against Lucknow Super Giants ensured that RCB didn’t cave in to the pressure of the new ball while also scoring at a decent rate to make light work of the chase. Talking in the pre-match presser, Josh Hazlewood, who dished out a Player-of-the-Match performance against LSG, opened up on Virat’s availability for the DC game.
Sharing an update about Kohli’s potential involvement in the DC game, Hazlewood said, “He’ll definitely play, it’s just about how much he can contribute in the field. He brings great energy and is one of our best fielders, so we’d love to have him fully out there. Knowing him, he’s not one to sit back, he always wants to be involved and make an impact.”
