I keep backing my strength to stay positive – Sanju Samson after match-winning half-century against Oman

Sanju Samson's fine knock of 56 was one of the highlights from India's 21-run against Oman that helped the Men in Blue end their Asia Cup 2025 group stages campaign with an unblemished record.
Samson walked out to bat after Shubman Gill fell early, and not only did he anchor the innings, the stylish right-hander provided the much-needed composure in the center as the others accelerated at the other end.
The wicket-keeper batter won the Player of the Match award for his fine half-century, and talking at the post-match presentation, Samson underlined the conditions that prevailed in Abu Dhabi while speaking on the importance of fitness under such sapping circumstances.
Shedding light about his knock, Samson said, “It was humid and hot out there. Working on my fitness in the last few weeks. We just got a new trainer and did the Bronco test. Good to see I got to spend some time in the middle.”
Extending a word of plaudit to Oman, he added, “They bowled really well. Have to give credit to Oman. Bowled well in the powerplay also, were swinging it upfront. I keep backing my strength to stay positive. Any contribution with the bat for your country, you have to take the positives.”
