ICC nominates Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers for Men's Player of the Decade Award
The two stalwarts, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, on Tuesday, were nominated for the ICC Men's Player of the Decade Award. The likes of Kane Williamson, Joe Root, R Ashwin, Steve Smith and Kumar Sangakkara are also the other nominees for this category. Having churned out innumerable batting spectacles in the last decade, Virat Kohli finds himself in all five men's categories.
The Indian skipper, who averages 50 in all three formats, is the only batsman to score 20,000 runs in a decade. That, in itself, speaks volumes about his unparalleled abilities with the bat. The standout feature about Kohli has to be his unquenchable appetite for runs. Seldom you see a batsman asserting dominance over a long period.

Besides Virat Kohli, the three Indian veterans - MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, and Ravichandran Ashwin - found a place in different categories. In the Men's T20 Player of the Decade classification, Aaron Finch was also nominated alongside Rashid Khan, Virat Kohli, Lasith Malinga, Imran Tahir, Rohit Sharma and Chris Gayle.
The winners will be decided based on the number of votes a player gets.
