If he is around, there is no tension – Dinesh Karthik on Virat Kohli’s availability for 2027 World Cup
As the speculations float around on Virat Kohli’s availability for the 2027 World Cup, his former teammate Dinesh Karthik, shared his thoughts on the topic.
According to DK, the availability of Virat Kohli bolsters India’s batting unit. With that being said, Karthik also revealed the fact that Kohli had dedicated training stints in London despite being away from professional cricket for a while.
Speaking on his Instagram, DK said, “In London, he was training during this big layoff that he's had after a long time in his life. And I also know he was practising cricket easily, two to three sessions a week. That tells you the man is serious about wanting to play this World Cup.”
He then shifted his focus to the fact that Virat Kohli’s presence, if picked for the 2027 WC squad will only strengthen India’s aspirations. Snubbing any questions about the stylish right-hander’s age, Karthik said, “And if he is around, there is no tension, according to me, because he knows what it takes to perform under pressure. And he's done that time and time again. And I'm very confident he will do it again.”
