India face uphill battle to level T20I series in Hobart
India will have an eye on restoring parity in the ongoing T20I series against Australia after succumbing to the hosts in the second T20I at the MCG. Despite Abhishek Sharma putting on a show with the bat, the rest of the batting unit could hardly conjure something substantial enough to keep the Aussies at bay.
Suryakumar Yadav's lack of form will be a major talking point ahead of the third T20I of the series and India will be hopeful of seeing the skipper score some big runs and play a major hand in the Men in Blue's quest for an important win in Hobart.
Australia, on the contrary, had a late scare, despite walking across the finishing line without much of a fuss. Kuldeep Yadav, despite going for a few runs did trouble the batters occasionally and in partnership with Varun Chakaravarthy will be hoping to stage a turnaround. However, it won’t be easy considering the sheer brute force that Australia possess at the top of the innings, adding to the return of Glenn Maxwell to the squad.
Venue Watch:
Bellerive Oval has produced a flurry of high-scoring games in the evening and one can expect that it is going to be nothing different tomorrow. Dew has been a major factor in the Oval which signifies that the team batting second will have the upper hand. However, the new ball will have its fair shares of drift. The dimensions of the ground are 175m x 135m, making it slightly longer and yet a tad narrower than MCG. Hitting square of wickets will be relatively easy while the batters will have to strike the chord of perfection if they are to find the right rhythm going down the ground or behind the wickets.
