India may rotate Bumrah, Shami during limited-overs series in Australia

India’s tour of Australia is going to be a long one. During such a long tour one of the biggest headaches for the management is to manage the workload of the players, particularly the fast bowlers.

It’s been learnt that India are planning to rotate their premier strike bowlers  Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami during the limited overs series to prevent them from burnout ahead of the Test series.

If reports are to be believed, head coach Ravi Shastri and bowling coach Bharath Arun want the two pacers to be fresh for the Test series in case Ishant Sharma is not available for the red-ball fixture.

India are scheduled to play six limited overs games in the span of just 12 days and the fact that the four-match Test series is going to last more than a month, the management will definitely risk the two premier bowlers play all the white ball games.

“If both (Bumrah and Shami) play the T20 Internationals (on Dec 4, 6 and 8), then they will have one warm-up match less which I don’t think the team management will fancy at this moment,” a source was quoted as saying according to some media portals.

However, India will not be losing much sleep over the issue as the white-ball unit is bolstered with names like Navdeep Saini, Mohammed Siraj, Deepak Chahar and T Natrajan, who were impressive during the recently concluded Dream11 IPL 2020.
