It is the innings of the IPL this season – Tom Moody on Jitesh Sharma’s brilliant knock

Jitesh Sharma slammed an incredible match-winning knock last night that saw him help RCB register a phenomenal win. Coming out to bat with the cream of the side back in the pavilion, Sharma had to come up with something special and he defied all possible odds to lead the side from the front and book a berth in the first qualifier.

Talking on ESPNCricinfo’s Time Out, former Australian cricketer, Tom Moody highlighted the innings as one of the best that he has ever seen in the ongoing IPL. He underlined what made this knock by Jitesh extremely special ahead of the upcoming playoffs.

Moody said, “The innings is, for me, the innings of the IPL this season by a stretch. We've seen some great knocks from young and old, but this one, wow, quite remarkable!”

He further added, “The team was totally against it - backs against the wall, Kohli in the sheds, [Phil] Salt in the sheds. There was significant headwind, but he just ignored it all and just took the game apart. He not only took the game apart, he played smartly, just the way he went about it was like he'd been there and done it before many, many times."
