It’s about being honest to the opportunity – Virat Kohli on playing for India
Virat Kohli has been at the epitome of fitness for the last decade and a half. That has seen him define the 22 yards in the most iconic way possible. However, maintaining that fitness requires a very stringent regime. From diets to hard work in the gym, Virat accepted it all and has been at the top of his game ever since.
Speaking in ‘Mind over everything: Virat Kohli on peak performance' at the RCB Innovation Lab Indian Sports Summit powered by Leaders, VK opened up on the perspective that he has on fitness. He also underlined the fact that for him, it is about refinement that helps him stay at the peak.
Virat said, “I don’t really call it sacrifice. People term it that way when you let go of things, but I see it as refinement. For me, it’s about being honest to the opportunity. There are lakhs of people who want to be in this position, playing for India and playing at the highest level. So I don’t think this is something that should be celebrated as extraordinary. This should be the norm. That’s how the culture of a sport grows.”
