My way of captaincy is slightly different – Rajat Patidar on being appointed RCB captain ahead of IPL 2025

RCB announced Rajat Patidar as their captain ahead of IPL 2025, with the star batter having moved into the role after taking over from Faf du Plessis.

In a Bold Diaries video released by RCB, Captain Rajat had a lot to address. He had a very special message for the fans and expressed the overwhelming feelings that followed. Patidar underlined the legacy of the role and was grateful for the honour that was bestowed upon him.

Talking on the video, Patidar said, “A lot of legends have captained RCB. I feel honoured that they have chosen me this season. My way of captaincy is slightly different. I am more quiet and calm and at the same time I am aware of what is needed and what is not needed. I don’t express much and I don’t really panic in the pressure situations. And I think that this is my strength.”

Underlining the team strength, Patidar said, “There are a lot of experienced leaders in the group of Indians and overseas as well. So I think their inputs will definitely help me in the leadership role. I am very grateful that RCB fans have shown me so much love and support for the last three or four years. I think I am blessed that I play for RCB.”
