N Sree Charani sets new record as the top-ranked bowler in WT20Is
Sree Charani etched a new record to her name via the latest ICC rankings after a sensational streak in the Asia Cup and Asian Games.
In the last eight WT20Is played by Sree Charani, she went onto claim a staggering 20 wickets, underlining her finesse as one of the rising sensations in the Indian echelons.
In the latest ICC WT20I bowling rankings, Sree Charani held onto the No.1 position but she also earned a new record, claiming the most rating points by a woman cricketer ever.
She went onto hit a peak with 817 career rating points, leapfrogging the record held by Megan Schutt for eight long years, when she garnered 806 points which came in November 2018.
Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma also had a stellar streak in both the continental frays that she was a part of. She bolstered her hold over the second position followed by Englandโs Sophie Ecclestone in third.
Smriti Mandhana found herself climbing back within the top five after a crucial 79 in the Asian Games finale. Apart from Mandhana, Shafali Verma was the other Indian to stay in the top five, stationed in the fourth slot with 759 career points while Harmanpreet Kaur found herself in the 10th position with 656 points in the latest ICC WT20I batting rankings.
