One of my career highlights is playing with Virat Kohli at RCB: Shane Watson

Former Australia cricketer Shane Watson might have played for several IPL teams, but according to him, the two years he spent at the RCB were among the major highlights of his career.
Having spent the first eight years with Rajasthan Royals, the ace all-rounder moved down south to don the RCB jersey in 2016. In a podcast named 'Grade Cricketer', he revealed two reasons to explain why sharing the dressing room with Virat Kohli was a surreal experience. The two-year stint at RCB helped him observe how Kohli went about his business. Not just on the field, he found the RCB skipper's off-field temperament fascinating as well.
"One of my career highlights is actually playing with Virat… at RCB. That was an amazing experience, for two reasons. To know Virat, what just to be able to understand what makes him tick on and off the field and just the great layers of a person that he's got as well." - he said.
The veteran also talked about the Protea stalwart, AB de Villiers. The 39-year-old said that one has to necessarily switch on the television when de Villiers is at the crease. "It's not just cricket he's a very interesting person, interested in other people as well. But then AB de Villiers at RCB as well you just have to turn on your TV when he's playing."
Talking of his IPL stats, Shane Watson has 3874 runs under his belt. Apart from wielding the long handle to good effect, one thing that stood out was his special knack for picking wickets at crucial stages of the game. It goes without saying that Shane Watson will undeniably go down as one of the most successful overseas all-rounders in the IPL.
