RCB put up a solid show with the ball in what was a modest-scoring encounter in Ahmedabad. Bhuvneshwar Kumar led the charge for RCB with an all-round show, garnering 15 runs with the bat and registering figures of 3/28 from his allotment of four overs. But that wasn’t enough to get RCB to the finish line as they suffered their third defeat of the season.

Talking at the post-match presentation, RCB captain, Rajat Patidar opened up on the overall game and what went well for them despite the challenges. He also shed light on the pitch which had obvious surprises for both the sides. He concluded the presentation with a message for the future games to come.

Highlighting the dynamics of the game, Patidar said, “Obviously, I think the score was not good enough on this track, but I think the way we bowled and stretched it to 15, 16 overs, I think that's a positive sign for us.”

Explaining the pitch conditions, Patidar added, “Definitely, there's a good cover of the grass on the surface that helped fast bowlers. And as we said, I think the way Shubman played, I think he played beautifully in the powerplay. And he put the pressure on us, but the way we came back and stretched, as I said, stretched till 16th over, I think that's a positive. I think it's pretty clear. I think we gave lot of wickets in the middle and that kept us on the back seat.”

Patidar had a loud and clear message for Bhuvneshwar Kumar as well who fought out single-handedly for RCB. RaPa said, “As we all know, I think he's an experienced bowler of T20 format and the way he bowled in the first half, I think that is incredible. But I think it's a long way and we'll take one game at a time.”

RCB has a bit of a gap going forward as they take the yard again in a week’s time where they will be locking horns with Lucknow Super Giants. Patidar capped it all off with a message for the future, stating, “Definitely, but we are not looking at it on the table. But our aim is to play good cricket."
