RCB fall short of the finish line in another crackerjack thriller against UPW

It was a full-blown run-fest in Lucknow as RCB and the UP Warriorz dished out another cracking thriller. Much to the heartbreak of the RCB fans however, despite all the thrilling moments, they fell short of the finish line to suffer another defeat in the ongoing WPL 2025 season.
On winning the toss, RCB opted to bowl first. A solid start from Grace Harris (39) and Georgia Voll (99*) saw the Warriorz storm off to a phenomenal start. Kiran Nagvire’s 16-ball-46 left the RCB bowlers spiralling as runs kept on coming at a very fast pace.
Eventually Voll carried her bat through the innings and fell agonizingly short of that all-elusive century when the overs ran out. Georgia Wareham was the pick of the lot for RCB with figures of 2/43. UPW totted up 225/5 at the end of their 20 overs.
RCB rode high on the back of Sabbhineni Meghana’s blistering brilliance up front while Ellyse Perry was on the hunt for runs too. Meghana scored 27 off 12 while Pez blasted 28 off 15. Despite the fireworks from Pez and Meghana, the fall of wickets early is what left RCB stuttering.
However, the arrival of Richa Ghosh steadied the nerves for the Royal Challengers and what followed thereafter was some iconic power-hitting. She smashed six fours and five sixes, blasting 69 from just 33 balls. She scored at a brilliant strike rate of 209.09, creating a platform for RCB to go for the chase, all guns blazing.
Unfortunately, fall of wickets at one end took the wheels off for the Royal Challengers and yet there was a late twist about to unfurl. A sudden surge from Sneh Rana blew life in the chase as she hammered 26 off just 6 balls. It was against Deepti Sharma that she carved her masterclass, knocking her for 4, 6, 6, 4 and a 6 before finally falling on the last ball of the over. RCB managed to pile up 213 in response to UPW’s 225, falling short by 12 runs in the end.
