RCB seek retribution as Delhi challenge looms large
27 Apr, 2026 By Editor

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru are once again set to contest it out as they get on the road with their first return-leg fixture of IPL 2026 as Delhi Capitals await. The last time these two teams met, RCB were beaten in the last over of the game. When these two sides collide again, revenge will once again be on the cards for the men in Red and Gold.

RCB will be coming to this clash on the back of a clinical win against Gujarat Titans where a combined show by the batters sealed the fate of the game for RCB. Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal’s incredible show with the bat saw the Royal Challengers cruising past the finish line with a minor bump in the middle.

With five wins from seven games, RCB sit in the second position of the points table. At the other end, Delhi Capitals have racked up just three wins so far but on their given day, they can be hard to stop. Delhi will be arriving in this clash on the back of a defeat against Punjab Kings but the battle saw records flying out of the window. Batting first DC flexed their batting muscle as KL Rahul hammered an unbeaten 152, propelling them to 264. However, Punjab had other plans and won the game with an over to spare.

There will be a lot on the line for both teams considering their positions in the points table. A win for RCB will solidify their grip in the second slot of the rankings while a victory for DC can put them into the top five with eight points and a decent NRR.

Venue Watch

The last game in Arun Jaitley Stadium witnessed the bowlers getting slaughtered in the center as 529 runs were scored. The track is flat and batters will always get true value for their shots. The bounce has been true so far with a good carry as well. The new ball will move around for the first three to four overs but once the shine comes off, the batters will come after it. The presence of dew in the second innings will further complicate things for the bowlers.
