The duo of Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag used to make bowlers toil in their prime and they combined forces yet again on Saturday while adding 83 runs for the first wicket during the opening match of the Road Safety World Series between Windies Legends and India Legends at the Wankhede Stadium.

The Master Blaster received a familiar reception from the Wankhede crowd as “SACHIN... SACHIN... SACHIN…” reverberated throughout the stadium when he walked in to open the innings for India Legends. Much to the delight of the fans, Virender Sehwag started the innings with a first-ball four. The duo jogged back some memories of the 2010s when they pummelled the West Indian Legends potent bowling line-up.

Virender Sehwag displayed all the shots in the book during his blistering knock of 74* off 57 balls which included 11 fours. This partnership provided a perfect start for the hosts in the run chase. Sachin Tendulkar (36; 7x4) played the role of the anchor at one end while Sehwag continued scoring at a brisk rate.

India Legends did not face any difficulties in chasing down a modest total of 151 runs in the allocated 20 overs. Earlier in the innings, India Legends restricted Windies Legends to a total of 150 runs with Pragyan Ojha, Zaheer Khan, and Munaf Patel grabbing two wickets each.
