Smriti Mandhana reclaims top spot in ICC WODI batting rankings

Smriti Mandhana reclaimed the top spot in the ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings after a resolute half-century against Australia in the ODI series opener. Mandhana’s 63-ball-58 saw her leapfrog English skipper, Nat-Sciver Brunt to the top of the perch.
Australia’s Beth Mooney also gained three places to move to fifth while Annabel Sutherland and Phoebe Litchfield became joint 25th after their half-centuries in the game.
This is the fourth time that Smriti Mandhana has reached the top of the pile in the WODI batting rankings. The first time she pulled off the feat was in January 2019 while the latest feat before yesterday came in July. Harmanpreet Kaur (12th) and Jemimah Rodrigues (15th) are the two other Indian batters in the top 20.
In the bowling echelons, India’s Deepti Sharma continued to be in the 7th position, thereby being the only Indian to be in the top ten. Indian off-spinner, Sneh Rana also gained five places to move up to the 16th position of the rankings.
Here is how the latest rankings look.
