Stalwarts return as India take the yard against England for the first ODI
After an apocalyptic outing in the last two T20I series, Team India is all set to return to the longer formats as they start the ODI series against England. The first clash of the fray is slated to be played in Birmingham where Indian fans will be raring to watch two of their absolute favourites in action.
The Men in Blue will be eager to incorporate two of their experienced campaigners, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, into the playing XI, while the return of KL Rahul and Shubman Gill will undoubtedly solidify India’s batting echelons. Their bowling will be buoyed by the return of Jasprit Bumrah, plugging a much-needed gap.
England will also be welcoming the return of Joe Root, Ben Duckett and Gus Atkinson. Both the teams will be crossing paths with fairly experienced folks in their side which will obviously be amping up the spice of the series. With India under the pump after a disastrous loss in the T20Is, this series will be extremely imperative for the Men in Blue.
Venue Watch:
The track at Birmingham has always been a balanced one between the bat and the ball. The new ball will be moving around but once the lacquer is off, the batters will come into the game. The bounce and carry will be true throughout. One can expect this to be a decent run-fest.
