Following the outbreak of Coronavirus, all sporting events across the globe were suspended, as the WHO suggested avoiding large social gatherings. In this quarantine period, Kevin Pietersen is hosting some live interviews on digital with some of the world’s most renowned personalities including Rohit Sharma and Shashi Tharoor. This time round he invited India and RCB captain Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli also announced on Wednesday that he will be going live on Instagram with his ‘good friend’ Kevin Pietersen which drew a lot of excitement and they did not disappoint.

Kevin Pietersen's candid live interview with Virat Kohli had several insights like tales from the RCB dressing room to Virat's future plans.

“I was running on a treadmill, don’t know where it was, and MS (Dhoni) came next to me and jumped on the treadmill next to me. We started talking about you and your leadership,” the former England and RCB Captain said. “One of the things he said would interest him was whether or not you would be able to maintain the same energy, excitement, aggressive leadership on the field,” Kevin Pietersen added.

We all know for a fact that Virat Kohli is perhaps the most charismatic cricketer of this generation and the emotions and character that he portrays on the field are unmatched. That alone can be a testament to the commitment and passion he has for the game.

When KP recalled an incident with MS Dhoni where they both talked about Virat’s energy, excitement, aggressive leadership on the field, Virat explained how he used to be in MS Dhoni’s ears, giving his inputs and suggestions and that was the only way he knew how to play.

“You can ask MS that as well. When I played under MS Dhoni, I was in his ears every over. ‘Maybe we can do this, maybe we can do that’,”  the current India and RCB Captain said.

“I would run from long on to long-off. I needed to be in the right place. I need to be able to enjoy the game first, even now when I’m the captain, I will give 120 per cent every ball. I can’t play any other way. I’ve made a promise to myself, the day I don’t feel like playing like this way I will quit. My bowlers tell me you celebrate more than us when we take a wicket. I just can’t help it,” Virat Kohli added.

A teen prodigy in 2008, now one of the best in the business, Kohli's clarity of thought and candour was refreshing and inspiring to watch.
