There weren’t many changes that were to be made – Rajat Patidar on RCB’s ‘sorted’ off-season
The diligence that defines a season for any team starts with off-season preparations. Similarly, for RCB, the nitty-gritties that will shape the upcoming two months started way back. From retentions to onboarding new players, the intense discussions that encompassed the likes of Andy Flower, Mo Bobat, Malolan Rangarajan and Dinesh Karthik saw RCB making ripples in the IPL 2026 mini-auction.
Revealing this in an exclusive chat with Cricbuzz, Rajat Patidar opened up on how RCB’s core team took care of everything, gathering all detailed information in one place. He heaped a boatload of praise on RCB’s thinktank, highlighting all the hard work that they have put behind the scenes.
Underlining how the off-season went, Rajat said, “It was sorted. There weren’t many changes that were to be made. From retentions to every other aspect about the team, I was discussing all of the pointers with Andy Flower and Mo Bobat. It was all taken care of. And also the new players whom we bought, in order to know about them, we were talking over video calls. All credit goes to Andy and Mo. Of course DK as well deserves the credit.”
Rajat further added the intensity of work they went through, stating, “They were the ones who chalked the game plan. They got the information about every single individual. I didn’t know much about all the other players in detail. So all credit goes to them.”
