This is a champion team – Jitesh Sharma on RCB’s urge to play attacking cricket
Jitesh Sharma was one of the standout wicket-keepers in IPL 2026, displaying stunning athleticism to play a big part in RCB’s title win.
Not only has he been one of the most significant contributors for the RCB in the last couple of years but he has also led the side in a handful of games, proving his worth for the leadership role.
Sharma has affected 37 dismissals for RCB over the last two years while playing incredible knocks for the side whenever the team needed him to do so.
Talking on the teaser of RCB Podcast – The 12thMan Huddle, Jitesh Sharma opened up on the attacking mindset of a batter whenever he walks out to bat for RCB. He highlighted how the champion mindset drives the entire side while emphasising on the intense planning that goes on behind the scenes.
Highlighting the attacking mindset of the side, Sharma said, “When you are attacking, you don't think about anything what's coming in front of you. Just go and just bash, and you just go and you want to hit something. So that's the mindset of the player.”
He further added, “As you see, the way we played last year, we were not thinking about who's bowling, what are the opponents are coming, what are their strategy. We were like, we just want to go and show them that this is a champion team. This is not a fluke or this is not something. It's a planned thing. We have worked for it and we earned it second time also. And as a member from the RCB team, I can say we are very proud. We have given something to the fans, and they can proudly say in front of you, well, we have won two trophies.”
