Venkatesh Iyer looks forward to an exciting season with a “champion team” after being roped in by RCB

RCB’s first signing at the IPL 2026 Auction was that of seasoned all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer, who was roped in for a sum of INR 7 Crore.

Iyer, who has 1468 runs at a strike rate of 137.72 in the IPL, offers explosive power that comes with an ability to bat anywhere from 1-7 in the batting order, in addition to providing RCB an option of unleashing the southpaw as a spin hitter.

With an economy rate of 7.76 at a bowling strike rate of 19.5, Iyer also offers RCB a few overs of medium pace, making him a multi-dimensional asset in the squad.

Iyer shared a message for the RCB fans through a video released by the franchise, where he said, “Namaskara Bengaluru! I am thrilled and excited to be a part of the RCB family and want to thank the management for showing faith in me and picking me. Looking forward to an exciting season with the champion team.
