Video – Smriti Mandhana’s first training session as India-W captain
The Indian women’s cricket team are all set to take the yard against Zimbabwe in less than three days from now. That will also mark the beginning of the Smriti Mandhana era as the full time Indian captain. Mandhana took over the reins of the side after Harmanpreet Kaur decided to step down from the leadership role.
In a video released by BCCI, Smriti Mandhana was seen putting in the hard yards. From being all smiles to those intent drills practiced to perfection, the scenes had it all.
Whenever Smriti is being talked about, one of the most inevitable discussions that follow is when does the world see her in the act, wielding her willow? Well, the video had it all. From her hitting the nets to playing her shots, Mandhana did it all.
The video also featured her connecting a sweet drive while hammering one of those monsters down the ground. She was also guided well by the Indian head coach, Amol Muzumdar, before being seen keeping a keen eye on all of his teammates in the act. She shared a few smiles before concluding it all with a few fine catches.
