Team India is set to face New Zealand in the crucial match, which gets underway on June 18th. The inaugural edition of the ICC event will be played at the Ageas Bowl Stadium in Southampton.

The Blackcaps skipper, Kane Williamson, who is currently the top-ranked batsman in the ICC Test rankings, poses an indefinite threat to any opposing team. India pacer, Umesh Yadav, believes that a batsman like Williamson does not have "too many weaknesses."

In an interview with The Telegraph, the 33-year-old stated that instead of undermining their opponents, they should focus on their own strong points, which would empower them to succeed.

“We do have a fair idea about Kane’s game, though I don’t think he has too many weaknesses. Of course, any quality batsman can fall to a good delivery, so as a fast bowler, you should look to stick to your strong points and bowl more of those balls which can fetch you wickets. And yeah, we need to get Kane out as early as possible as that’ll surely benefit the team,” Umesh told The Telegraph.

The Kiwis are one of the most balanced and strong Test teams in the world, and facing them in English conditions could be a big challenge, opines Yadav.

“New Zealand are a strong side, they bat deep and their pacers are quite experienced and lethal. So, it will be a tough game. English conditions are also a big challenge for us and so is playing against a team like New Zealand,” he stated.

The Vidarbha Express went on to say that as Test players, it is their primary responsibility to maintain professionalism and a disciplined demeanour throughout the game.

“But being Test players, we need to play with discipline and make sure we remain disciplined right throughout in all aspects of the game. The team that maintains such discipline in each and every session will prevail,” Umesh added.
