With India's Super 8 spot in the T20 World Cup 2026 sealed, there has been chatter around the Men in Blue potentially resting a few senior players. However, Indian batting coach, Sitanshu Kotak, put all doubts to rest in the pre-match press conference, where he addressed the topic of picking the XI.

On Jasprit Bumrah playing the game, Kotak said, “Don’t think Bumrah will rest. We will decide later.”

Bumrah continues to be a major influence on Team India’s bowling unit with figures of 1/20 against Namibia and 2/17 against Pakistan. His continued presence in the Indian side will always be a boon for the Men in Blue.

Also shedding light on whether India’s bowling unit may be changed or not, Kotak added, “Looking at the wicket and conditions, it could be a bit different. We played the last game with good intensity and we’ll play the next game with the same intensity. All four who aren’t playing are keen to play. Siraj played the first match. Important thing is all 15 understand that we are trying to put the best XI on the park.”

He concluded with a quick note about why India is not taking Netherlands lightly, stating, “From start of this World Cup, we have seen any team can beat any team. That is why every game is important."
