Whatever comes my way, I will accept it – Bhuvneshwar Kumar on IPL goals
IPL 2025 has seen RCB stealing the headlines for all the right reasons. With eight wins from 11 games, they are stationed second in the points table while the Gujarat Titans sit at the top, courtesy of a superlative net run rate. RCB’s fine run has time and time again been traced back to their extraordinary pace unit.
As Ian Bishop put it before, the duo of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood have been dishing out hall of fame stuff. With 12 wickets in 2025 and 193 wickets overall, he has taken the most wickets for a pacer in IPL. However, things never really looked like a cakewalk for him.
Talking on RCB Bold Diaries, Bhuvi explained how he kept on going at it, over and over again, despite surmounting challenges. He said, “The way I have approached myself in the last few years, personally, I will say that I never make any goals. There is no aim. I just keep going match by match, tour by tour or whatever. I think that helps me a lot. To stay in that moment, to stay in the present. And to give my best in the trophy or tournament that is going on.”
He further highlighted his objective in the upcoming days, stating, “No personal goals, I want to give my best in the tournament in progress. Not thinking about getting back into the Indian team or not. Whatever comes my way, I will accept it.”
