Winning a World Cup is extremely special for any cricketer. However, when you win it in front of the home crowd, things are absolutely different. This is because one needs to overcome daunting expectations from the fans and Team India pulled it off with rather consummate ease. However, when such a herculean feat is achieved, one is ought to celebrate the grandest of spectacles with pomp and vigour.

Talking in a video released by the ICC, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav opened up on how the Men in Blue celebrated their triumph in Ahmedabad. He also highlighted why this World Cup win was special for so many players as India had a very young crop of superstars putting it all on the line.

Revealing the celebrations that Team India had, Suryakumar Yadav said, “Starting from the stadium, no one wanted to leave the stadium. All the families were around. Fans were still there at the stadium till about 1 or 2 a.m. in the morning.”

He further added, “When we came back to the hotel, without taking a shower, people were already in the team room at the place where the celebrations were on. And more than 75% of the boys were up till 7 a.m. in the morning. So it's a great thing to see.”

Underscoring why winning the trophy was very special, SKY continued, “I think you don't win the World Cup every day. There were a lot of guys who were just 24, 25, winning the World Cup at the age of 24, 25. It's a special thing for them. So they wanted to have a taste of that victory, what it actually means because we saw 2024, they saw Champions Trophy 2025. So they wanted to be a part of this celebration. They were there till the morning and having a good time.”
