A hunting ground for him – Sunil Joshi on Vaibhav’s Sooryavanshi heroics in Harare

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi registered his first international half-century, smashing 50 off just 19 balls in the series opener. Sooryavanshi ran away with the chase in the first T20I, earning wide praise from across the cricketing fraternity.

India’s bowling coach, Sunil Joshi opened up on Vaibhav’s proclivity for faring in Harare. From his heroics in the U19 World Cup final, where he smashed 175 off just 80 balls, to his half-century in the series opener, Joshi was extremely pleased about Vaibhav’s heroics in Harare.

Talking in a pre-match interview, Joshi said, “We will let him focus on his batting. He has been sensational. I am glad that Harare is a hunting ground for him. He has performed well in the U19 World Cup final, he has performed well in the series opener.”

Promising to work on his bowling as well, Joshi added, “Vaibhav has been very comfortable as well from his own end. Whenever we get some time in CoE, we will definitely work on his bowling as well. And accordingly, will be focusing on him.”
