Aaron Finch – Current Form

The talismanic batsman, Aaron Finch picked up the captaincy mantle of Australian cricket when they were down and out after the sandpaper fiasco.

During this turbulent phase, he had that innate ability to make shrewd decisions on the field and aptly supported by his performances with the willow, he put in his own ethos and helped Australian cricket recover from the horrific incident in Cape Town.

In the 2020 IPL auction, Royal Challengers Bangalore acquired the services of the Australian skipper to further strengthen the batting line-up. Come March 2020, Aaron Finch has proved to be the focal point in Australia's recent pre-eminence in the shorter formats.

Skipper leading the charge

Finch has been in scintillating form

In the Big Bash League, the 33-year-old continued his purple patch and compiled 363 runs in 9 matches at an average of 45.63.

The opener has predominantly been the bedrock of the Australian top-order. Aaron Finch's rich run of form has consistently bolstered the famed Australian batting line-up in the last 14 months.

Since July 2019, Aaron Finch has racked up 1513 runs in 35 matches. More importantly, he has proved to be the fulcrum of the Australian squad; leading the side atop the ICC T20I rankings with his leadership adroitness. After a prolific year in the limited-overs format, Aaron Finch bagged the ODI Player of the Year award.

Opta Stats -

The 33-year-old has scored 135 boundaries since ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

Since June, Finch has 11 half-centuries and 4 centuries to his tally.

3207 - The Victorian has scored 3207 runs in away fixtures with a healthy average of 41.03 in one-day internationals.

172 runs - Aaron Finch created history at the Harare Sports Club when he pummelled the Zimbabwe bowlers and made them toil hard. This also remains to be the highest T20I score by a batsman.

Given his shrewd personality and a calm-headed entity, Virat Kohli has found a perfect ally in Aaron Finch. After possessing a strong CV in T20 cricket, the acquisition of the swashbuckling batsman comes as a huge boost for RCB.

Aaron Finch, Virat Kohli, and AB de Villiers - the three talismans, who have orchestrated some of the finest T20I knocks, will be playing in tandem for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Finch will look to repay the faith imposed on him and hopefully emulate similar feats for the Bangalore franchise.
