With the suspension off the IPL, the big question fans are asking is what’s the road ahead for the remaining matches of the league. While it’s been learnt that the BCCI is determined to conduct the remaining matches this year and is on a lookout for a possible window before the World T20, there are already suggestions pouring in about possible venues for these games.

According to reports, English counties Warwickshire, Surrey and the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) have offered to host the remaining 31 matches of IPL 2021.

"We will explore all the options and see when it's feasible to play those matches and take a call at the right time. Their (English counties) offer has not been discussed yet. It's too early. Right now, our immediate plan is finalise the preparation for the Twenty20 World Cup in India later this year," BCCI treasurer Arun Singh Dhumal told Reuters.

"IPL is huge, and everybody wants to host IPL matches. It has a massive fan following even outside India."

The BCCI officials have already spoken about how it can be tricky to squeeze in the remaining matches.

After the tournament was suspended, Director of Cricket Operations at Royal Challengers Bangalore Mike Hesson revealed, "We'll be part of the decision-making process as well, just to make sure that when it's rescheduled, the players and everybody involved are in a safe environment.”
