Bruised India look to turn the tide around against hard-hitting West Indies
After two incredible contests defining the T20I series so far, India and West Indies are all set to go at each other again as the party shifts to Indore. It has been a heavily batter dominated series until now with the skies coming off in Jharkhand as 501 runs were scored by two teams combined.
If there is one thing that both the teams will be desperately looking forward to fix is their bowling unit. With the conditions overwhelmingly favouring the batters, the challenge will be for the bowlers to figure a way out to challenge their counterparts with some guile, or mastery, whatever works for them.
While in the batting department, both India and West Indies come in with plenty of experience. For India, the top-order is a highly decorated catalogue of players who can smack the ball out of its skin while West Indies will be pinning their hopes on a bunch of elite hard-hitters led by Shai Hope who has been incredible throughout the tour.
No matter how illustrious it looks for the batters, the fate of the clash might still dwell upon the shoulders of the bowlers, who can navigate through the treacherous mazes while coming up with something genius to counter the supremacy of the batters.
Venue Watch:
The track in Indore won’t really change much from the conditions that we have seen in the first two T20Is played in Lucknow and Jharkhand so far. With another flat track loading, the bounce will be true and the carry will be decent for the batters to eke out true value for their shots. One can also expect batting to be easier in the second half as the dew will be slowly coming on. Spinners might have another challenging day in the office, especially in the second half when the dew makes its appearance.
