Arshdeep Singh belted out a fine performance against Australia in the third match in Hobart as India restored parity to the five-match T20I series. Singh’s figures of 3/35 allowed India to restrict Australia within 186, a chase that would be completed with five wickets and nine balls in hand.

Arshdeep Singh got into the act early enough, claiming the crucial scalps of Travis Head and Josh Inglis. The departure of these two hard-hitters allowed India to secure some early momentum. He then came back to remove the dangerous Marcus Stoinis in the final over of the innings that saved India a handful of runs in the final three balls. He won the Player of the Match award for his instrumental performance.

Talking at the post-match presentation, Arshdeep Singh opened up on his working regime, while laying out the blueprint that eventually got him the much-needed success.

Arshdeep said, “I’ve just been working on my process, trusting my skills, and executing the plans I’ve practised. It feels great to contribute when I get the chance. When someone is coming hard at you, there’s always a chance to pick up wickets.”

He further added, “And when someone like Bumrah is bowling from the other end, batters often take more risks against me, that gives me wicket-taking opportunities. I just try to enjoy my bowling and keep my plans simple. No matter the situation - powerplay or death - I just focus on execution and stick to what I’ve practised.”
