Hopefully, I will get the Test cap soon: Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav has been in blazing form in the shortest format of the game in the ongoing calendar year where he is in hot pursuit of Muhammad Rizwan’s record of being the highest scorer in T20Is. Carrying his rich vein of form from the T20 World Cup, SKY brought out the big guns against the hosting Kiwis in the second T20I amassing his second international century in the shortest format of the game.

The 32-year-old rattled multiple records along his way to a phenomenal 111 that helped Team India put up 191 runs in the preceding encounter. As Surya is on an unprecedented rise, in a post-match conference, he was asked about how he feels about a probable Test call-up.

The Indian middle-order batter was confident in his ability to lead the Indian battery in whites too as he said, “It’s coming, it is also coming.” This confidence is one of the primary weapons in the already distended arsenal of SKY and as he keeps on chipping away at the bowlers with consummate ease, it is obvious that further opportunities await him on the horizon.

SKY added, “When we start playing cricket we start with red ball and I have also played first-class cricket for my Mumbai team... it was quite okay, so I have a fair idea about the Test format and I enjoy playing that format also. Hopefully, I will get the Test cap soon.”
