India eye turnaround against mighty Australia in Adelaide
Team India got off to a rocky start to the three-match ODI series Down Under, succumbing to Australia in a rain-curtailed match-up. If India are to keep up with the Aussies in the latter’s backyard, they will have to come up with some solid firepower after what felt like a clout in the gut delivered with utmost power by the hosts.
India’s batting had major challenges in the first ODI after they lost the cream of their unit early in the innings. With the return of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, the expectations were sky high.
However, both the star batters failed to put on a show, and adding to that, the constant stoppages made the Men in Blue lose significant momentum while trying to swing for the fence.
Australia, on the contrary, were smooth operators as India felt the heat. Even after losingTravis Head early in the innings, they were unable to stall the progress of the Aussie juggernaut. Things went downhill for the Indian bowlers as they hardly found any momentum to build. However, if the Rain Gods stay away from Adelaide, one might expect a cracker of a battle to unfold.
Venue Watch
Adelaide offers a decent balance between the bat and the ball. The new ball exhibits strong signs of movement but once the lacquer is off, it’s fairly easy to bat on. Spinners and seamers get more or less equal help from the track while one might expect a solid 280 to be the norm as two powerhouses collide.
As the weather prediction goes, despite cloudy skies, there are no chances of any precipitation, which means that we are supposedly in for a full game.
