India-W eye victorious start against Australia-W as Road to World Cup 2025 begins

With the Women’s World Cup round the corner, Team India will be squaring off against Australia in a three-match ODI series in home conditions.
This series will be one that could pose a firm test for the hosts as Australia possess a strong, well-rounded squad. That said, both teams will be eyeing some crucial momentum en route to the quadrennial extravaganza.
For India coach Amol Muzumdar, one of the foremost things to consider into will be the conundrum at No.3.
Despite Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal scoring runs up top with Harmanpreet Kaur coming good at No.4, the No.3 position in the batting order hasn’t really been a rewarding one in recent times.
Harleen Deol, who has quite some experience under her belt will be the frontrunner to grab the spot and will hold the key to scoring some important runs.
On the bowling front, India have some good variations in their pace unit with Renuka Singh returning to lead the pack while the availability of Sneh Rana and Deepti Sharma will be adding depth to the spin department.
Venue Watch:
Rain can be a predominant factor in New Chandigarh which makes the surface a decent one for the fast bowlers. With the moisture in the surface, the team bowling first might have a slight edge over their counterparts. However, constant threats of rain might be a decisive element of the game.
