Jitesh put up an outstanding show – Mayank Agarawal

It was a mesmerizing win for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru as they cemented their spot in the top two of the points table while securing a berth in the first qualifier of the tournament. Mayank Agarawal played an important role, knitting together a crucial 41 off just 23 balls, pairing perfectly with Virat Kohli and later Jitesh Sharma to provide RCB a thumping victory.
Talking at the post-match presentation, Mayank opened up on his partnership with Jitesh while highlighting the calculations which went wild after they lost four wickets with still a significant road to travel. He shared the plan that was always intact in what was a historic chase for RCB.
Mayank said, “There is very little talking to do, I just had to give the strike and I think Jitesh put up a show and he was simply outstanding. We were just calculating and the wicket was good enough to target the fast bowlers. It builds a lot of confidence, momentum and belief as well.”
He concluded with a note from the last game, stating, “We could not do it last game and we definitely made amends and the captain led from the front. When I came we lost 2 quick wickets, the plan was to build a partnership and we knew the wicket was good enough.”
