Lauren Bell’s gun pace to Radha Yadav’s web of mystery: RCB’s bowling unit for WPL 2026
With less than four sleeps away from the opening day of the Women’s Premier League 2026, RCB are all set to rumble. After what was a mixed bag last season, there was some significant overhaul in the recently concluded WPL auction which saw RCB pack their side with immense firepower. In continuation to the other two departments, today we will take a look at how the bowlers line up for the upcoming iteration of the WPL.
· Lauren Bell
Signed at INR 90 lakhs, the English fast bowler will be spearheading the RCB bowling unit under the supervision of former English pace ace, Anya Shrubsole. Bell, known for her gun speed and the numerous variations that come along, can very well be the first in the line to take up the new ball. With 50 WT20I wickets next to her name at an economy rate of 7.14, Bell will be the one to watch out for.
· Linsey Smith
A left-arm orthodox spinner, Linsey Smith is capable of operating in all three phases of the game. She bowls at a frugal economy rate of 6.64 while her WT20I tally already reads 23 wickets from just 22 games. Smith’s regimented discipline makes her a strong contender in the RCB squad and she can be a fine option to keep the batters in check, when handed an opportunity.
· Shreyanka Patil
Returning from a prolonged spell of injury, Shreyanka Patil is all set to make a comeback for RCB. A handy all-rounder, Patil is extremely successful with the ball in her hands. She was the Purple Cap winner in RCB’s championship winning season, claiming 13 wickets overall. Her masterclass against Delhi Capitals in the grand finale, registering four crucial scalps was instrumental in shaping up RCB’s title-winning fate. Before the injury struck, Patil was on a steep curve of ascendancy as she only kept on growing from strength to strength.
· Sayali Satghare
Coming on as a replacement for Ellyse Perry, Sayali Satghare is a rising contender. She is a decent all-rounder in the making and can claim crucial wickets at important junctures. Her first WPL wicket was that of her idol, Ellyse Perry. Satghare can provide some important batting in the lower-middle order while with the ball, she can eke out at least a couple of overs.
· Prema Rawat
Rawat did get her debut in the last season of WPL and claimed a wicket too. She is a gun fielder and more importantly, has improved by leaps and bounds in terms of being an all-rounder. She was a crucial part of the India A team that played Australia A women Down Under. Her figures of 3/24 in Mackay before impressing with an unbeaten knock of 32 in Brisbane, was a burning testimony to the talent that she has been growing into.
· Radha Yadav
Being a crucial part of the World Cup winning team, Radha Yadav can prove to be another instrumental name in the RCB ranks. With 103 wickets in WT20Is at an economy rate of 6.61, Radha can derail any batting partnership. She is also a handy batter with a best score of 48 in WODIs. Radha’s multi-faceted skillset can be something to watch out for the batters.
