This is the most balanced squad we've had – Smriti Mandhana

In less than three days’ time, WPL 2026 kicks off with a swashbuckling clash between RCB and MI. Led by Smriti Mandhana, RCB is all set to challenge for their second crown.

RCB skipper, Smriti Mandhana, opened up in the latest RCB Bold Diaries video, stating how the majority of the auction picks went as per plan. In the video, she highlighted how RCB is stacked with experienced picks who can dish out with a handful of impressive performances.

Talking about the pre-auction plans, Smriti said, “I remember sitting down and putting down names with Malo and we almost got almost 90% of people who we were targeting. I think this is the most balanced squad we've had in terms of our batting, our bowling.”

Highlighting what can be the biggest strength in the RCB squad, Smriti said, “The strength is going to be our fielding. I just see a lot of gun fielders around, a lot of all-rounders have come in and especially I mean there are a lot of people who've played for India in the recent times and have that wealth of experience and who've joined the team, which is always a good thing to have that sort of experience, especially for our city with the pressure of crowd and everything.”

 She concluded by saying, “I mean, it's just a good thing that they have that experience. Everyone just knows their stuff, they are at a place where they have a point to prove as well, which is a very nice feeling to have.”
