Malolan Rangarajan emphasizes on smart planning ahead of RCB’s clash against Gujarat Giants

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru are all set to play three games in the next four days. With two clashes against the Gujarat Giants and one against Delhi Capitals, the players are in for an exciting and yet arduous four days coming up for them.

Shedding light on the hectic schedule and the preparation regime for the Royal Challengers, Malolan said, “This three-game in four days, which includes a travel day also for us, everybody is aware of it being televised. This is the time, you know, as professionals, as coaches, as a medical team, and as players, we need to step up. But that, you know, the players are very aware, something that we did discuss at the start of the tournament, so their loads have been planned in such a way that, you know, they'll start tapering off closer to this schedule. A lot of work and volume was put in last week, and now closer to this game, with the game tomorrow, people have wisely chosen when they're playing.”

Highlighting the essentials of the scrunched schedule ahead, Malo further added, “You have to keep looking to always talk with them about maintaining the intensity. They know what it is to play for our franchise, RCB, and play for the fans. That by itself brings in intensity for them and purpose. At this time, it's about being smart, where you're pushing, when you're pushing, trying to be tactically ahead of the game, preparing for that. So as far as intensity is concerned, the girls have shown how good they are on the field. There's a lot of work, like, that has been done as a fielding group.”
