After an unfortunate injury to Will Jacks that ruled him out of IPL 2023, RCB named Michael Bracewell as the England all-rounder’s replacement for the season.

Bracewell, who proved to be a thorn in India’s flesh the last time the Men in Blue were up against the Kiwis is known for his hard-hitting rampage towards the latter half of the innings and is also a very impactful off-spinner.

At RCB, Bracewell will be reuniting with his former coach, Mike Hesson, who has pulled off a terrific job as the Director of Cricket Operations at the team, guiding the side to the playoffs in all the three seasons he has been a part of.

Talking to Stuff.co.nz, Michael Bracewell opened up on how excited he was to reunite with Mike Hesson for the upcoming IPL season. He said, “He [Hesson] was the coach of the team when I made my first-class debut, so it'll be pretty cool to link up with him again and probably share a few old Otago stories along the way.”

Bracewell further shed some light about his exact feelings after being picked up by RCB and the southpaw added, “I haven't afforded too much time to get too excited because obviously there's a big game in front of me."

The New Zealand all-rounder has been a part of 117 T20 matches and has amassed 2284 runs at a strike rate of 133.48. Not only has he been prolific with the bat but he has also claimed 40 wickets at an economy rate of 6.52 which makes him an exciting option in the RCB XI.
