Mohammed Siraj to Karn Sharma: Top 3 bowlers for RCB in IPL 2023

In a tournament that saw Royal Challengers Bangalore’s top order flourish and threaten oppositions with a wide range of stroke-making, the RCB bowlers had a questionable outing, barring a few who were in good touch and delivered a consistent brand of cricket throughout the tournament to help RCB remain in the hunt.

Particularly on a few pitches where bowling itself proved to be a nightmare, there were a few bowlers who shone brighter than the others and played a major hand in RCB clinching seven wins from their 14 games. Here are the top three bowlers for RCB in IPL 2023.

Mohammed Siraj – 19 wickets

Miyan proved to be almost unplayable in IPL 2023, conjuring an extraordinary brand of bowling to leave the entire cricketing roster gobsmacked. From razing through the defences of Jos Buttler to leaving Liam Livingstone startled, Siraj was the pennant-bearer of RCB’s excellence in the bowling department. He would go on to finish with 19 scalps at an economy rate of 7.5 and also registered his best figures of 4/21 to cap off his best IPL season.

Harshal Patel – 14 wickets

Despite a slightly underwhelming season for Harshal, he was still one of the finest bowlers of the side in terms of wickets as he bagged 14 of them, making life tough for the best of batters with his deceptive bowling. Although he was taken for runs, Harshal would make up for it with decent spells, and his best performance came against the Rajasthan Royals, a match in which he picked up 3/32.

Karn Sharma – 10 wickets

Featuring in the IPL after warming the benches since 2020, Karn Sharma proved to be quite a handful for batsmen across oppositions, with the seasoned leggie foxing them with his variations and ability to extract big turn. Karn picked up 10 wickets from seven games, and what stood out for him this season is that he picked up at least one wicket in every match barring the last - underlining his effectiveness with the ball.
