RCB Podcast - I’m motivated by team success – Tim David

At IPL 2025 Auction, RCB roped in Tim David for INR 3 crore, paving a way for his homecoming after what was a bumpy introduction to the IPL for him. However, this year, David was a different beast altogether, smashing 187 runs at a strike rate of 185.15 at an average of 62.33. He also registered a half-century while often scoring runs at an extremely quick rate while batting in the lower middle order.

Talking on the latest episode of Big Basket presents RCB Podcast: Bold & Beyond, Tim David opened up at length about his designated role as the finisher while also highlighting the expectations that tag along.

He said, “I think it’s always a changing process for me and more the experience I get has actually at times been a bit of a hindrance because initially when I first started playing I'm like right let's go out let's do some damage and you have no expectation on yourself.”

David further added, “So it's super fun scoring fast. You hit a six, the crowd goes nuts. You get a lot of energy from that and it feels great. And then you play for a while and you start riding your team's success quite a bit or failures and that can weigh you down.”

David continued, “I’m motivated by team success, so I want to win. I want to have it that way as it's more fun winning because you obviously feel pretty sad when you don't win. And it's it, you talk about the experience of not getting on the emotional roller coaster, but no matter what you do, you still want to feel like you're making a positive difference or a positive impact on the team.”
